Our beginnings go back to 1946 when the Beaches Shrine Club was chartered at Jacksonville Beach. We
completed a Shrine Club building at Neptune Beach in 1981. Our meetings were held there until 1996
when we moved to our present location on the second floor of the Activities Building. A club always
very active, we expanded out of our main room here and built our lounge in 2002.
Normally , meetings are held the third Friday of the month. Our Oasis opens at 6pm and the meeting
starts at 7pm. Our dress code is "Beaches Casual" for most of our club activities. A sport shirt, or
flowery Hawaiian shirt with shorts is just fine. The same applies to our Ladies and guests. We
encourage Nobles and the Officers to wear their fezzes during the business part of the meeting, then
revert to a cap, straw hat, or no hat. We are very casual. Our goal is to have a good time while
supporting the objectives of Morocco Shrine Center.
We had a Motor Corps Unit, the Lancers, who participated in parades with 1929 Mercedes and 1927
Bugatti replica cars and gave support to other Shrine activities. Click on the link to the Lancers to see
more about the history of this fine group of dedicated Nobles. Although the Lancers went into an
inactive status in December 2003, we look forward to the day when we can reactivate the unit with a new
type of parade vehicle.
As a Shriner, both you and your Lady will get more enjoyment out of your membership if you participate
in a Unit or Club, or both. The Beaches Shrine Club, and Lancers, invite all Nobles, along with their
Ladies and families, to come look us over and join us. We hope to see you on our beach

our meetings include our
Ladies and we have wonderful
meals here. There are also
many trophies and other
memorabilia to show our
competitive spirit. |

| The sand, shells, and sharks teeth in our "beach" actually came
from the Jacksonville Beaches. The floor of the Lounge looks
like wet coquina shells. |
